Nike Inc.'s business in China has grown to more than $2 billion in sales and 7,300 stores. Now the Washington County-based sportswear giant will build a new 600,000-square-foot corporate campus in Beijing.

on Monday released the first details of its plan to build a new 600,000-square-foot regional headquarters in China.The sporting goods giant (NYSE: NKE), based in unincorporated Washington County, said the new campus will be built in Shanghai?s Yangpu District as part of a new mixed-use development by New York-based developer Tishman Speyer?
called ?The Springs.?In a news release, Nike said it has signed a long-term lease with Tishman Speyer.
Tishman Speyer will build more than 587,227 square feet encompassing up to three office buildings and a five-story multipurpose conference center. The campus will also feature a soccer field, a regulation-size indoor basketball court, a state-of-the-art workout facility, a full-service food and beverage operation and the standalone conference center to host major events and product unveilings.
Nike will move into the space starting in the first quarter of 2014.

News of Nike?s plans for a Shanghai campus first arose last fall.
It becomes the company?s third corporate campus, following its World Headquarters near Beaverton and one in Hilversum, the Netherlands, which serves as the regional headquarters for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Nike is the leading sporting goods brand in China, where it celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. It generated $2 billion in sales in China last year for the first time and last month it said revenue in China grew by another 35 percent in the second quarter.
