Vdio, from Music Streaming Service Rdio, Tells You What to Watch from Your Friends' Video Playlists

Vdio, from Music Streaming Service Rdio, Tells You What to Watch from Your Friends' Video PlaylistsMusic streaming service Rdio branched out to video today with the new (appropriately named) Vdio service. Vdio wants to help you stop wondering what to watch, with movie and TV show playlists shared by your friends.

Right now, Vdio is only available to Rdio Unlimited subscribers in the US and UK. If that's you (or you sign up for Rdio Unlimited in the next 60 days), you can get a $25 credit to use on Vdio to buy or rent a title. There's an iPad app in addition to the web service.

Like the Rdio playlists for music, Vdio "Sets" will help your friends see your favorite movies and TV shows. You'll also be able to check out what your friends are currently watching and start watching those movies or shows too.

There are tons of video content discovery services out there, and Netflix itself has recently added social features for sharing movies. Vdio looks like it has a more streamlined design, and it's also promising TV show discounts if you subscribe to the season, as well as new bonus content added daily. If you're a Rdio Unlimited user, it's definitely worth a try?especially with the $25 credit.
